Affiliate Marketing can be an extremely profitable business if done correctly. There are super affiliates make well over 7 figures a year by this method.
But… if done incorrectly, you will pull your hair out! Not to mention, spend far more money than you ever make, leaving you discouraged and soon to quit.
Sometimes it seems like the "key" to marketing online is an illusive mystery showed in deep secrecy. The truth is; the correct way to being successful at affiliate marketing – or any other form of marketing online - is not some wondrous formula one suddenly stumbles upon, but rather time-proven techniques that have been forged by years of dedication, and commitment. Perfected strategies that work…if you work them.
These six "hidden tips" will increase your sales virtually overnight:
1) When searching for a niche on clickbank.com, be sure to choose one that had a high gravity (over 50 minimum). Remember that the higher the gravity the more the unit is selling. Gravity basically represents the amount of affiliates who are selling the product, so if it’s a gravity of 67, that means approximately 67 affiliates have sold, or are selling the item. That means there is a healthy "want" for the product. This is important. After all, there must be an audience for what you are selling (also known as "demand"). If there is no "demand" then there will can be no substantial sales.
2) After you have chosen a niche, you need to get a website to promote it. While it is true that you can direct your prospects straight to your opportunity, it is always best that you get your own domain name. The reasons for this are many, not-the-least-of-which is the search engines like you to have your own domain, and that way you will begin to be noticed by them, driving more traffic to your opportunity. You can choose one of many domain registration sites, I personally use godaddy.com.
Now, you need to chose a name for your domain that is relevant to your niche. Moreover, you need to make your domain name "keyword exact, or keyword rich".
"Keyword-exact" is just what it sounds like. If you’ve chosen a niche in health and fitness, and the product you are promoting is something like; "Gout Relief Exercises" then you want your domain name to be the same if possible. If it’s already taken, you can use modifiers such as hyphens between your words to see if that domain name is available that way.
The second option would be to make your domain name "keyword-rich" which -in this example- means you should name your site something like; "Gout pain relief and exercises". This name is not exact to the product, but it has all the keywords in the domain, so it is "rich" with the necessary keywords.
The main reason this is so important, is this helps your site be recognized and ranked by the search engines, due to it’s relevance to the product/service it is promoting. Search engine spiders don’t like it when the title of the website is completely irrelevant to the content, and they likely won’t rank you. You MUST keep all content relative to the name of the site and vise-versa.
Remember this: Relevance is crucial to your success! ALWAYS keep it relative! I can’t express that enough.
Also, you need to have a website for each and every niche you promote. Don’t lump a bunch of promotions together on one page, so you can save on domain names and hosting. Keep all products separate. At first, you should only be promoting one niche at a time anyway. Remember to promote and FOCUS on one at a time! This is a seemly obvious statement, but it is actually a very important tip! Far too many people try to promote too many things at once. One of the hidden tricks is to focus all of your energy, time, and talents to one product, then go on to the next once it is up, running, and turning a profit.
Promote your product ASAP! Keep in mind that until you design your website, you can forward your niche opportunity to your site and begin to promote it right away. This is a simple procedure, done in the dashboard of your domain, and it will send anyone who clicks on your link directly to the sales page of the product you are promoting. Simply look for the forwarding icon and follow the necessary steps.
A great way to get off the ground fast is to use social media such as; Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube. These are all great platforms to begin your marketing campaigns. For more on how to use them correctly and most effectively, download my FREE ebook: "Internet Marketing Secrets Exposed!" I go into full detail on how to market on these platforms in this book, as well as how to effectively use PPC, CPM, keyword research, SEO techniques, and many other marketing strategies.
3) Write articles expressing the benefits of the product you are promoting, and place them on the major article submission sites such as ezines, hub pages, squidoo, goarticles, and articlebiz. If you do not know how to write an article, there are plenty of places on the web that will guide you, and you can always sub it out to writing organizations. Try to post 2 or more articles a week to start the ball rolling. Never forget that the name of the game is TRAFFIC. With it, you are a sure success…without it, a sure failure.
4) Be sure to create a squeeze page to capture your prospects email. This is a very important part to your success. You need to be able to communicate with your prospects and begin a relationship with them, in order to promote your product, and future products.
5) You need and auto responder. There are many out there; "aweber.com" being one of the best. The first 30 days are free, and the cost is $20 a month thereafter.
If you can’t afford one in the beginning, there is a GREAT free service at listwire.com. This service will provide everything you need to get started, including a really cool squeeze page text that will allow you to implement it directly to your opportunity page.
Remember, only two things will happen when someone visits your website. You will either close a sale, or your prospect will leave, never to return if you don’t have their email. With an auto-responder you can send them reminders of your product and services every few days.
6)Remember when promoting to keep your audience relative. For example; when you begin to build your Facebook and Twitter marketing platform, you will add and follow people who would likely be interested in what you are selling. Don’t waiver from this. Always keep your prospects relative to your product (again, I can’t say it enough). If you are selling a product on how to quit smoking, you would seek out those groups/people to promote it to. By doing this you keep a targeted audience, and you greatly improve your chances of making a sale.
Always keep in mind, this is a numbers game. Roughly, only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product/service, so you need to generate as much targeted hits for your website as possible. You do this by the techniques I have outlined, as well as many others outline in my ebook.
Naturally, there are a vast MANY more aspects to marketing online, but these six tips will start you on the RIGHT path. For more tips on how to reach your market effectively, click the link below to download my FREE ebook:
